Defense Grid 2 Enhanced VR Edition coming March 28th with Rift support and more.
Released 2014 on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One, this sci-fi tower defense game was praised by the gaming media and fans alike, with addictive, gripping and tactical gameplay. Now, with Rift support coming in just a few weeks, we’ll have two great tower defense games to play in VR (the other being Kittypocalypse).
So what’s included in the Enhanced VR Edition? There’s all-new content, with an official story expansion featuring five new levels. New user controls designed for the Oculus Rift have also been added, enabling gamers to lean in and look around their base and wider level. The use of VR promises to also give players a better sense of the physical world around them, helping to place turrets and obstacles as the game progresses.
A launch trailer was today released for Defense Grid 2 VR, with a selection of new screens that show the game in action. Hopefully we’ll get some hands-on time with the game soon so we can share more gameplay details, but either way the release of the game is mere weeks away.
