Today Oculus announced a brand-new card-based battle game Dragon Front for the Oculus Rift.
Coming Spring 2016, Dragon Front promises to combine fantasy and dieselpunk with the collectable card genre to create something entire unique and exciting. That means you can expect 280 unique characters to collect, 80 encampments, more than 100 spells and competitive leaderboards for players to rank up.
Now, I must admit that card-based games are not my thing, but Dragon Front looks like it might just convince me to give them a try. There’s something about the 3D “artwork” on each card, and the way battle spells wreak havoc on the world below, which brings the genre to life like never before. The use of positional-tracking over a miniature battlefield should also give the game a charming feel.
With a release date in Spring (that’s after the Oculus Rift headset ships to consumers), we have a short wait before any playable code is available, but for now enjoy the screens and video on this page.
